Hello Beautiful Knitters! This is our very first post and very first profile… enter Jaclene!
Jaclene, a native New Yorker, yarn coordinator for Vogue Kitting Magazine
Where were the pictures taken and why?
This picture was taken in New York’s Soho – an artsy, trendy neighborhood in Manhattan near to where I work.
Why do you knit?
I knit because it makes sense to me. And when it doesn’t, I get to challenge myself. I love math and building things, and knitting goes hand in hand with a mechanical mind. It’s fun scrawling out ideas and equations, stitch counts and gauges, and making things WORK. Plus, freaking people out when they catch a glimpse of my completely psychotic sketchbook is a huge perk.
What was your most challenging project?
The first piece I designed for the magazine – it was the first time I did color work, one of the rare times I work flat and there was a lot of pressure to make it perfect.
What is your new favorite thing?
The Young Pope on HBO. I am obsessed with it.
