Meet Karin! Slovak hand knit designer living in NYC and a true knit addict.
Where were these photos taken and why?
The photos were taken in Central Park, New York, on the eastern side near the Guggenheim museum. Central Park is so big and diverse, it is one of my favorite places to run, walk, people watch and generally and hang out, at any time of year!
Why do you knit?:
I was always surrounded by knitters while growing up. I could knit before I could walk (only joking!). All the women in my family can knit. I think that knitting is in my genes and it’s part of my life.
Most challenging project (and why?):
The optic blanket by Purl Soho. I knitted the sample. The pattern is easy but I only had 30 days to make it.
What’s your new favorite thing?:
It is a tiny worry doll from Guatemala. You tell the doll your worries and put it under your pillow before you go to sleep, the worries should go away by the time you wake up…
