Meet Jason from London, England! Black Cab driver and artist.
Why do you knit?: I used to knit Squares with my mum when I was very young and watched her knit everyday when I lived at home but didn’t take it any further. Then I met Karin at Purl Soho and she showed me the basic technique again and introduced me to circular knitting, I was Hooked. There followed a thunderbolt of inspiration that knitting was more than just stockinette stitch and that there was endless possibilities and the only limit was my own creativity. I also find knitting extremely relaxing and on easier patterns a useful way to meditate and center myself.
Most challenging project (and why?): My current project which is a crescent shaped shawl by Justyna Lorkowska for Loop London. I have learnt at least 15 new stitch combinations and 3 new cast-ons (thank heavens for YouTube).
What’s your new favorite thing?: A Dualit milk frother for making the ultimate hot chocolate.
