Meet Anna-Lena! A German girl, living in Sweden for the past 3 years, and in love with the small things in life!
What are your favorites right now?
Yarn Store: I love Purl Soho in New York. It is always my “first thing to do” when I am in New York. LOVE the wool and accessories!
Yarn: All kinds of chunky yarn but it always has to be 100% wool. For example Wool And The Gang and Loopy Mango.
Why do you knit?: My mum was always knitting a lot for me. I could design what I wanted to have and she would knit it. In 2011, I decided to sell some of our knits because we could not wear them all! At that time I also started to knit. It’s fantastic that I can knit exactly what I want to wear, so I kind of never stick to patterns. Dreams can come true!
Most challenging project (and why?): My first sweater! It took so long and I thought that it will never be finished… But how happy I was when I could wear it. I wore it for 3 days in a row!
What’s your new favorite thing?: Knitting Parties! The knitting community among young people is not very big in Sweden. So I organize knitting parties: wool, inspiring people, coffee/ wine and a lot of fun. Last year we were knitting in a romantic apple-tree garden and I could not have been happier!
