Meet Helene from Norway!
Helene Arnesen is a Norwegian girl working in costuming for film, and soon-to-be owner of a vintage shop.
Why do you knit? My grandma is always knitting us things, and she’s so inspiring. Creating beautiful pieces is my favorite thing to do (especially if you can give it to someone!), and knitting is both creatively stimulating as well as relaxing for me. I just love it.
Most challenging project (and why)? It has to be the first cardigan I knit for my boyfriend: the “Klassisk Kofte” from Pickles. It would be a breeze doing it today, but it was the second project I’d ever done, and I really wanted to do it right. However, I kept messing up and having to redo it! Some of the mistakes I couldn’t be bothered to correct still haunt me to this day when he wears it. And he wears it all the time!
What’s your new favorite thing? A few weeks back I made myself a pair of 1930s trousers in a gorgeous blue cotton with an oriental swan pattern on it, and I’ve pretty much moved into them! The fabric is just so dreamy!
