Meet Dana from Jordan!
She recently graduated as an Architect and genetically inherited her love of knitting from her mother’s side. She sees knitting as architecture without the boring technical nonsense.
What are your favorites right now?
Yarn Store: Istanbuli in downtown Amman. It has this old vintage Ammani charm. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I go there
Yarn: Anything chunky with a lot of texture
Why do you knit? I want to spread the joy of yarncraft and show people that knitting isn’t just for old ladies! Plus It’s always heart-warming to see someone genuinely happy when they receive something you put time and effort into. Knitting with my mom while watching lame funny videos is my favorite way to spend the evening.
Most challenging project (and why)? My new cotton shawls for the summer collection. As a beginner, it was all trial and error coming up with the pattern, and I’ve never worked with fine cotton yarn before so it felt odd at first.
What’s your new favorite thing? Exploring and experimenting! Now that I’m done with college I finally have time for myself. I’m all for stepping out of my comfort zone and going on spontaneous trips to discover the hidden gems surrounding us.
