Meet Maya from Beirut, Lebanon!
She discovered  knitting after quitting her job as banker.

What are your favorites right now?
Yarn Store: So many to visit still, but I love the Handmade Berlin store and their ITO yarns.
Yarn: I love colored cotton and alpaca yarn, merino wool also.

Why do you knit: I discovered knitting after quitting my job as banker in 2012 (after 24 years) via a lovely shop in Beirut, where I met a beautiful community of knitters of all ages. I discovered my passion, and since that day I started digging more and more into the world of knitting/crochet, yarns, projects etc… I always want to learn more and more about it! I started selling my projects 3 years ago, and I am very proud of developing some valuable customers.

Most challenging project (and why)? A fair isle knitting hat! It was difficult to hold so many balls. I love winter hats made with fair isle technique. Also another challenging project for me is socks, I guess I always run away from projects with double pointed needles!

What’s your new favorite thing?
 Crochet dresses.
